As you approach the end of your Invisalign treatment, you're probably going to wonder what happens next. Here’s what to expect once your treatment is complete.
Teeth Whitening
Often Invisalign patients choose to whiten their teeth following their Invisalign treatment. Teeth whitening can help to complete the look and highlight their straight new smiles!

Retainers
The maintenance portion of your orthodontic treatment will begin as soon as your Invisalign treatment is complete. Generally, this means one thing: a retainer.
As a result of the straightening process, after any type of orthodontic treatment, your teeth will not be as firmly set in the surrounding tissues as they once were. In order to keep them from shifting back out of position over time, you will need to wear a retainer.
To begin with, you will probably have to wear your retainer full time. This will give your teeth an opportunity to settle into their new positions. But, after awhile you will likely be able to wear your retainer part-time. This might include wearing your retainer only at night or on certain days in a week.
Regular Dental Checkups
Of course you will need to continue visiting your dentist regularly for cleanings and checkups after your Invisalign treatment is complete. But the good news is that you’ll no longer have to attend the extra Invisalign-specific checkup appointments. So, while we’ll still be seeing you regularly, it won’t be as frequently!
